Using & Teaching

Primary sources are held in various libraries and museums across Yale’s campus. Many primary sources are available in general collections. However, due to the rare, unique, or fragile nature of some primary sources, they can only be made available for research or teaching use in a special collections reading room. The primary sources in found archives and special collections often require special handling and may need advanced notice to access. Click on the pages below to learn more about how to handle such materials and how to cite the collections in which they are found, or how to incorporate primary sources found in special collections into various teaching areas.
